My perfect romantic weekend starts in the lively downtown of Chicago, Illinois. There are many very nice hotels in Chicago, but I prefer the Embassy Suites because of its good location and reasonable prices. I would arrive on an early Friday evening so that I could eat dinner in the city. My first night of dinner would be going to Giordano's pizza. Chicago-style pizza is famous and I just love this place. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed and the pizza is great! After dinner, I would like to just go for a walk along the lakefront if it was warm enough. If it is winter and it’s too cold to go walking, I would love to go ice skating in Millennium Park. It would be very romantic to ice skate with my husband in the park. Saturday after sleeping in we would wake up and get ready for a day of shopping on Michigan Avenue. Michigan Avenue has great shopping and plenty of restaurants for lunch time. I like to go to Grand Lux Café for lunch. They have a very extensive menu that has salads, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and much more. Plus they have great drinks! Then after lunch it would be more shopping! There are plenty of stores and malls to keep me occupied for the whole day. After I shopped until I dropped, I would go back to the hotel with my husband and relax in our bed together. Later that night I would head out to our absolute favorite restaurant in the city…Joe’s Seafood and Steaks. This restaurant is within walking distance from our hotel so it’s very easy to get to. And the food is great! It is expensive but great for a romantic evening. After dinner we would head out to a show. My husband loves comedy so we would most likely go to The Second City. Tickets are relatively inexpensive and we always have a good time there. Then it would be back to the hotel to hit the hay. Sunday morning we would get up and have brunch at our hotel and then check out and head home. Sounds like a great time to me! |
